If you signed up for annual billing, you prepaid for 12 months of service at a discounted rate. However, if you add additional features or phone numbers after signing up, those extras were not included in your original annual payment.
How Are Add-Ons Billed for Annual Subscribers?
If you add extra features or phone numbers to your account after signing up for annual billing, Unitel Voice will automatically attempt to charge you for the prorated amount at the annual discounted rate for the remainder of your annual term.
However, if this payment declines, the system will:
- Switch the add-on to a monthly billing cycle instead.
- Charge the standard monthly rate (without the annual discount).
- Bill you monthly on your billing anniversary date.
What Add-Ons May Be Charged Separately?
These features are not included in the original annual payment and will require additional billing:
- Additional phone numbers
- Call recording
- Voicemail transcription
- Conference calling
- Texting
- Additional extensions beyond 3 (Office Plan only)
Example Scenario
- May 15 – You sign up for annual billing and prepay for 12 months.
- July 25 – You add an additional phone number and call recording.
- July 25 – Unitel Voice attempts to process a prorated annual payment for these add-ons at the discounted rate.
- Payment Declines – Since the payment did not go through, the system automatically switches the add-ons to monthly billing at the standard rate.
- August 15 & ongoing – You are billed monthly on the 15th for the additional number and call recording without the annual discount.
How to Ensure You Get the Annual Discount?
To receive the annual discount for add-ons, make sure your payment method is up to date when adding features.
> If your payment declined and your add-ons are now on a monthly cycle, you can contact customer support to discuss reapplying the annual billing discount.
