The Unitel Voice Desktop Softphone requires an internet connection and access to certain network services to make and receive calls.
Most home and office networks work without additional configuration. However, businesses using restrictive firewalls, network security appliances, or managed networks may need assistance from their IT administrator.
Basic Network Requirements
Ensure your network allows:
HTTPS (TCP 443): Used for application provisioning, updates, and related services.
SIP Signaling: Used to establish and manage phone calls. Ports and protocols depend on the Unitel Voice service configuration.
RTP Media Traffic: Used to transmit call audio. The required UDP port range depends on the softphone configuration.
DNS Resolution: Required to connect to Unitel Voice and Acrobits services.
Acrobits Network Services
The Desktop Softphone uses technology provided by Acrobits. Your IT administrator can review Acrobits' official network requirements, including service addresses and ports:
Acrobits Official IP Allowlist:
The documentation includes provisioning services, desktop application update services, and other optional services.
Not every listed service is necessarily required for your Unitel Voice Desktop Softphone.
Troubleshooting Network Connectivity
If you experience problems registering the softphone, making calls, receiving calls, or hearing audio:
Verify that your computer has a working internet connection.
Check whether your firewall, VPN, or network security software is blocking the application.
If possible, test the softphone on another network to help identify whether the issue is network-related.
Contact Unitel Voice Support if the issue continues.
Important: If your business uses a restrictive firewall, contact Unitel Voice Support before making changes to your firewall rules. Our team can help identify the network requirements for your account.
