Your router or firewall settings can sometimes prevent your Unitel Voice IP phone from connecting, registering, or making and receiving calls properly.
If you're experiencing connection problems, dropped calls, or one-way audio, your network configuration may be contributing to the issue.
These troubleshooting steps apply to Yealink T57W, T34W, and W70B/W73H phones used with the Unitel Voice Office Plan.
Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection
Confirm that your internet connection is working properly.
Make sure your IP phone is connected to your router or network switch.
If possible, test another Ethernet cable or network port.
Restart your IP phone and check whether it reconnects.
Step 2: Check Your Router and Firewall
Some routers and firewalls have security settings that can interfere with VoIP phone service.
Common issues include:
SIP ALG: A router feature that can interfere with VoIP signaling and cause registration or calling problems.
Blocked network traffic: Firewall rules may prevent your phone from communicating with the Unitel Voice service.
Network restrictions: Business networks, guest Wi-Fi, or VLAN configurations may restrict access to required services.
If you're using a business firewall or managed network, contact your IT administrator to review these settings.
Step 3: Check SIP ALG Settings
SIP ALG (Session Initiation Protocol Application Layer Gateway) is a router feature that can sometimes interfere with VoIP calls.
If you're experiencing registration failures, dropped calls, or one-way audio, ask your IT administrator to check whether SIP ALG is enabled.
Disabling SIP ALG may resolve certain VoIP issues, depending on your router and network configuration.
Important: Do not change advanced router or firewall settings unless you're comfortable managing your network or have assistance from your IT administrator.
Step 4: Restart and Test Your IP Phone
After your network settings have been reviewed:
Restart your Yealink IP phone or W70B base station.
Allow the device to reconnect and register.
Place an outbound test call.
Have someone call your business number to test inbound calling.
Confirm that both parties can hear each other clearly.
