Custom Call Forwarding Schedules

Set custom call forwarding schedules. Control when calls are forwarded for each extension using custom time slots.

You can set up custom forwarding schedules for department and employee extensions, including forwarding calls to specific numbers or the mobile app. Here's how to set up custom schedules for both.

Department Extensions

  • Navigate to the Extensions Page

    • Go to the Extensions section in your dashboard.

  • Select the Department Extension

    • Click the Edit button next to the department extension you want to modify.

  • Edit Forwarding Extensions & Numbers

    • In the "Forwarding Extensions & Numbers" section, either add or edit the forwarding extension.

      Note: If you don't have a forwarding extension set up, click here to learn more about setting up department extensions.

  • Set the Forwarding Schedule

    • Inside the edit menu, you'll find the Active hours section. By default, it’s set to Always (which means 24/7.) You can choose from a list of presets or select "Custom".

  • Create Custom Time Slots

    • Toggle the All day button to OFF


    • Add Start time & End time (use military time, or be sure to include AM and PM).

      *Remember, you are setting your business hours here. Outside this time, the after-hours greeting will play.


    • Click CONTINUE

    • Select the days of the week that match the hours you just defined. (If your business hours vary by day, you can always come back and add additional days and time ranges to your schedule.)

    • Click CONTINUE

    • Turn the All months toggle ON, and then click FINISH

    • After you've clicked FINISH, you will see that the Always option still exists along with your newly created Business Hours. You will need to delete the Always option by hovering over the Always option and clicking the X


    • After removing the Always option, click Save

    • If you need to add additional time slots (for example, if your weekend hours differ from weekdays), click the + to add more time ranges. You can create separate time slots for each group of days to match your exact business hours.


      In this example below, the business hours are:

      • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

      • Saturday: 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM

      • Sunday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Employee Extensions

If you are forwarding calls to a phone number using the Employee Extension’s Forwarding Extensions & Numbers list, custom call forwarding schedules are set the same way as Department Extensions. Just follow the same scheduling steps within the Employee Extension settings.
