Customers can bring their own supported devices for use with their UniTel Voice Service.

Step 1. Confirm you have a supported Device: Make sure your device is on our list of supported devices.
Step 2. Confirm your device is not Locked to your previous Provider: Next, you will need to access your device's settings to make sure your previous provider didn't lock-out the device from being provisioned to a new provider. The steps are different for each device type. Don't worry, we can assist you to check. Unfortunately, we have found that some VoIP Providers lock the phones so they will only work with their service. If this is the case,we can sell you a new device but unfortunately, we will not be able to provision the device to our services. Dont worry! This is not very common and a Unitel Voice Product Specialist will provide instructions how to check your device during our setup process.
Step 3. Contact our Support Team. We will require some information from your existing device to add to your Account in order to setup provisioning of the device with your UniTel Voice Services.
- Collect device’s Serial Number,
- Collect device’s MAC Address
- Collect Device’s model number
- Collect for which Employee Extension Number should the device be assigned
- Instructions how to communicate this information to UniTel Voice Support
- Set Expectations: What are the next steps for us to provision the device
Additionally, we will provide to you with step-by-step configuration instructions how to tell your device to communicate with our Systems. This is a 1-time action that will need to be performed on each device you will bring. After this is performed, we can manage your device to ensure optimal settings & configurations in the future use with your UniTel Voice services.
